Dandy Arty Edition, the new masculine composition

Dandy Arty Edition, the new masculine composition

Chaumet reinvents the codes of its first Dandy* evening watch launched in 2003 in a brand new, surprisingly avant-garde edition. A combination of discreet elegance and couture details; a new aesthetic created in pure luxury, the sobriety and the sensuality of black, in a resolutely designer edition. Definitively “Arty”…

The cushion-shaped case, the collection’s signature, is accentuated with its black sapphire crystal with subtle midnight blue anti-reflection treatment. The asymmetry is reinforced with an automatic winding mechanism: the two counters, one for the hours and the other for the minutes, are set off-centre, side by side, providing a unique way of reading the time from left to right. The lines are taut, and the crown is set at 12 o’ clock as a reminder of pocket watches.

The Dandy Arty Edition is the quintessence of style, revealing the infinite wealth of black: the tuxedo-style couture strap daringly associates varnished leather and satin; the different blacks play together in contrasted matte and shiny bayadère stripes.

Subtle details include the guilloché bayadère stripes, which cross the dial in a stylised manner, reproduced on the plate of the automatic calibre and on the sapphire crystal back of the case. The “circle in a cushion” motif engraving covers the oscillating mass, visible through the transparent sapphire crystal back of the case.

The automatic winding movement was developed exclusively for Chaumet and demonstrates the supremacy of Swiss expertise.
