"Bijoux de sentiment…" Exhibition

A new exhibition that offers a new look at the history of jewellery making. Called "Le Grand Frisson - Sentimental jewellery from the Renaissance to the modern day", this exhibition testifies to the central role of jewellery in the language of love and sentiment across the ages. Exhibition created by the Chaumet Museum (Octobre 2008).

An implicit communication of emotions, a transcendence of sentiments in sumptuous jewellery...these few words outline Chaumet’s artistic objective. The thirty creations of magnificent gems in the new "Le Grand Frisson" Haute Joaillerie collection recount the magic of love at first sight. Like sparkling particles fallen haphazardly after the explosion of the senses, the asymmetric bars and original associations of coloured stones make the heart of the ring pulsate. The heart? Not exactly – for here there is nonetheless a presence of balance, made even more perceptible by the surrounding tumult. Some rings are accompanied by matching jewellery for an even more intense brilliance: ethereal drop earrings, enchanting necklaces…
