1840

The first sparks of inspiration

A master jeweller, Jean-Valentin Morel was one of the Maison’s first workshop heads. He designed a range of Chinese-style silver tableware, the first manifestation of this encounter with the Middle Kingdom.

The connection is forged. And never stops growing.

1920

A new form of creative expression

China was making its mark on the Maison’s designs. Pearls, onyx and jade came together to create a unique language of forms and materials.

A style refined. A dialogue perpetuated.

1980

First stop, Hong Kong

Chaumet opened its first point of sale in Hong Kong, designed to attract Asian clients and raise the Maison’s profile across the continent.

A story takes root. And never stops growing.

2017

A bond forged from splendour

The first of the Maison’s international exhibitions was hosted in Beijing. At the heart of the famous Forbidden City, Chaumet presented Imperial Splendours. Its choice of such a symbolically significant location underlined its attachment to China.

2021

A celebration of emblematic designs

Tiara Dream was the Maison’s newest exhibition, dedicated to its signature creations. Once again, Chaumet showcased its emblematic designs in the heart of China.

2025

China, at the heart of the present

Since opening its first boutiques in 1990, Chaumet’s Parisian jewellery has travelled across China. Here, the Maison has adorned its clientele with creations imbued with poetry and elegance.In 2025, it strengthened its ties with the country by becoming the main lender to the Blooming exhibition in Hangzhou, curated by Eric Art.
