Torsade de Chaumet necklace in white gold, set with one cushion-cut "Vivid Red" ruby of 1.63 carats from Mozambique, one cushion-cut F VVS1 diamond of 2.03 carats, round rubies and brilliant-cut diamonds.
The Torsade de Chaumet necklace is a contemporary reinterpretation of one of Chaumet's most iconic historical jewels, the négligé necklace of the Maharajah of Indore. Adorned with Mozambique rubies warming the creation of their intense Vivid red, the necklace takes the form of an asymmetrical toi et moi whose twist of diamonds gracefully wraps around round rubies. The two cushion-cut gems associated with the twist recall the Place Vendôme and its mythical column.
First jeweller to open on the legendary Place Vendôme in 1812, Chaumet pays tribute to the origins of the Maison with the Torsade de Chaumet collection. Inspired by the movement of the frieze wrapping the Vendôme column, these virtuoso creations offer a modern and fresh revisiting of the twist - "torsade" in French - in an ode to movement and life.
