In the Chaumet historical salons
The second exhibition, at 12, Place Vendôme, is dedicated to the theme of architectural motifs in jewellery. In every era, jewellery has drawn from architecture – and more widely from furniture and the decorative arts – as a source of inspiration, engaging with these new territories in order to renew its creative vocabulary.
This selection of drawings from Chaumet’s collection of graphic arts, which spans from the nineteenth century to the 1970s, enters into a dialogue with a selection of works by students of Paris’s École des Beaux-Arts made in the context of a “ call for designs ”, and with contemporary gouaches from the Maison’s design studio. This architectural encounter takes place in Mansart’s Place Vendôme, within the Chaumet historical salons designed by Bélanger in 1777.
Visits in groups of 15 people, from the 24th to the 30th of March.
