Creating watches for 200 years

For the past two hundred years, Chaumet has dedicated its jewellery excellence to the creation of exceptional timepieces.

Since the creation of its first wristwatches under the Empire, the House has asserted itself through its talent for associating bold innovation – winding-mechanism, “à tact” watch, jumping hours, chronograph, mystery clock, metronome – with the purity of diamonds, rare precious stones, mother-of-pearl or enamel.

The Maison combines the best Swiss watchmaking know-how, tradition and complex movements with its Parisian refinement it masters so well.

The creative process, at the origins of emotion

In the secrecy of the House’s creative studio on place Vendôme, Chaumet’s designers conceive new models just as they do for precious jewels. Like master couturiers, they reveal the fluidity of volume and of light, enhancing shapes and rare materials in order to inspire emotion in those who will wear them.

Using the original drawings, Chaumet Horlogerie’s Swiss workshops then apply advanced modelisation technology to fine-tune volume and produce prototypes. It takes over a year for a new model concept to come to life.

The mouvement, a dynamic for design

All Chaumet watches are equipped with high precision Swiss movements, made in the best watch factories. Each of these movements features an extremely high level of finishing: pearl-finished plates, angled bridges, screws in blue-tinted steel, a hint of blue which is the Maison’s signature and also present in the antireflection treatment of the sapphire crystal, on some of the hands and other details of the Chaumet watch dials.

Jewellery expertise dedicated to time
Engraving, enameling and stone setting: behind each of the artistic crafts lies an obsession for detail which endows each of the Maison’s pieces with a unique value.
Exceptional dials
All these dials express a different dimension of time, of movement, of emotion and celebrate the craftsmanship of the jewellers, engravers, stone setters and sculptors, miniature painters and watchmakers
Creative complications
Chaumet reinterprets the telling of time and accomplishes an exceptional technical feat with the creation of an unprecedented and exclusive new caliber.
