A JOURNEY THROUGH NATURE
Chapter 2: Spicy Sweetness
The sensory journey continues with the second chapter. Like Proust’s madeleines, the Vanilla Flower, Star Anise and Cinnamon Bark parures envelop you in turn with a sensation of spicy, almost sweet softness, swathed in emotion.
Vanilla Flower
A tribute to one of the world’s noblest and most prized plants, the seven pieces in this white gold and diamond parure transform the flowers and pods of the Vanilla planifolia orchid into High Jewellery.
This creation is the result of more than 1,350 hours of craftsmanship.
Equal parts opulent and feminine, the asymmetrical design, with its focus on relief and volume, conveys both the sweetness and potency of vanilla, as well as the memories it awakens.
The centrepiece of the parure, the asymmetrical necklace, is adorned with a 10.71-carat D FL Type IIa diamond. This diamond is exceptional for its purity and rarity, being the most colourless and purest in existence. The creation of its necklace required more than 1,350 hours of work, testifying to the unique expertise of the 12 Vendôme artisans.
Cinnamon Bark
Baroque inspiration, rounded forms and volume, a palette of warm colours. Soft and curvaceous, the five Cinnamon Bark pieces are distinguished by their lines recalling the rolled shape of the spice’s bark.
Statement-making yet refined, they compose a contrasting parure of amber-hued tourmalines, rubellites and spessartine garnets, the result of extensive research.
Star Anise
Tracing the stellate form of the eponymous spice, sacred in Asia, the four Star Anise pieces create a parure that is equal parts naturalistic and sophisticated.
These creations highlight the Master Jewellers’ attention to detail and the goldsmith tradition for which Chaumet is renowned.
The combination of marquise-cut diamonds and candy-pink Madagascar sapphires shapes a distinctly feminine aesthetic. A subtly sweet sensation of delicacy emanates from the pieces, rekindling cherished memories.
