How to set
my ring size?

Choosing the correct ring size is an essential step when you have just spotted a particular piece. Whether it’s a jewellery creation, a wedding ring or an engagement ring, the piece must fit the shape of the finger perfectly. How to set my ring size? Chaumet gives you all the advice you need to make the right choice.

What exactly is a ring size?

The ring size corresponds to the circumference of your finger. It is measured in millimetres and is the same for men and women. If the circumference of your finger is 55 millimetres (or 5.5 centimetres), then you will need a Chaumet ring in size 55. To ensure that you measure your finger circumference correctly, we recommend a few simple tips:

– Take the measurement at the end of the day: fingers tend to swell over the course of the day. The outside temperature can also influence size. Warmth causes momentary swelling of the fingers. Conversely, when it’s colder, they tend to be thinner.

– Measure both hands: the fingers on your left and right hands are not necessarily the same size. The second phalanx is the widest part of the finger, so make sure the ring can be pushed all the way through. If you’re deciding between two sizes, always go for the larger one.

How can I find out my ring size?

At Chaumet, we use different methods to find out the size of your fingers.

The Chaumet ring sizer is available to print. Made up of circles ranging from 40 to 69 mm, this tool allows you to measure the diameter of your rings and find the equivalent Chaumet size. To use it correctly, we recommend that you print out the ring sizer and keep a ring that you are used to wearing close at hand. Then place the ring on the different circles to determine which one is closest to the size of your jewellery piece. Make sure that the circle is visible inside the ring. This allows the internal diameter of the piece to be measured. Feel free to repeat the operation several times to be sure of the result.

If you don’t have a ring sizer to hand, we can arrange for one to be delivered free of charge to the location of your choice. And of course, you can always use a measuring tape instead. To do this, you will need to:

– Wrap the measuring tape around your finger

– Make a pencil mark at the right size

– See our size chart. If you’re deciding between two sizes, always go for the larger one.

Please note that Chaumet uses the French measurement system on its website. Some countries, such as the United States, use a different measurement system.

Finally, keep in mind that if your Chaumet ring does not fit perfectly, it is possible to request a resizing service. To do so, visit your nearest Chaumet boutique or contact our Customer Service department.
